Basis beefiness been in refrigerator 3 days; can I swallow it?
Hey all,
I bought ground beef from whole foods about 3 days ago. Can I all the same eat it? I bought it on the 3rd or fourth of this calendar month (can't remember). I checked the "packaged" and "sell past" dates. The packaged was the 3rd and the sell by was the 6th. Does that hateful that, in theory, information technology could take been refrigerated until today (the 6th) anyway and still be considered "good"? I don't really know much almost when food goes good/bad, but I did consume some chinese that had been sitting in my room for like 8 hours yesterday (and I accept no AC so information technology'south like 80 degrees in my room) and didn't get sick (yet!)
What exercise you guys retrieve? I smelled it and information technology didn't have any off-putting olfactory property, but I don't know what rotten meat smells like and so idk; possibly I'k overly cautious.

..I ate it. If yous don't see posts from me for a while you'll know why. The burger was skilful though. Usually get for the medium just went well-done. Feels a piddling bubbly in the stomach but that'southward probably because I ate ice cream besides and I'm lactose intolerant.

Yes, I buy frozen stuff from the meat packing place and let information technology thaw and sit a 24-hour interval or ii before even using it.

if you don't feel safe eating it its mostly a good idea non to consume information technology. That said Information technology should be fine, check i tt over and mask sure you cook it thoroughly I personally have had worse, merely if you feel unsafe then don't practice it.

"Sell by" is exactly what it sounds like. Why would a store sell food that expires on that day? It'll probably exist fine for some other week if not longer.
If you ate chinese that was sitting in that oestrus for viii hours, y'all have a much higher chance at getting nutrient poisioning than eating meat that's been in the fridge for a week past the "sell by" engagement (allow alone 0 days).
It'south in off topic, exactly where it belongs, and so who cares?

By and large you should be very observant if you lot are making chopped steaks its very important that its well done if its a little old. Unlike a real steak there will be germs in the center of it because of the mincing.

If it isn't graying all over nevertheless, should be fine. Once it starts looking less red and more brown/gray or smelling, that'south your cue to chuck it...
Besides, if it'southward just now the sell date, should be fine. Or freeze it, information technology'll keep easily until you want to eat it providing y'all seal it correct.

This is completely incorrect. Greyer looking mine is perfectly fine to eat. Generally use by dates on things like beef can exist ignored for another solar day or 2. The easiest way to cheque is just by smelling it, if it has a foul smell and more of a smily texture which can be 'pushed through' easier then don't eat it. I Hate how much people waste expert quality meat because information technology's 'out of date'.. if information technology smells fine, looks fine and 'feels fine' so it's no problem and if you're that paranoid so cook it longer. Dont know how it works over at that place but here in sweden it kickoff going bad past the second day, had some before i had in the fridge for a couple of days and information technology had gotten a trivial gray and stuff but still some pink on it. Tasted a little wierd merely didn't made me sick
